Cat chew through your cable TV wire? Did the vacuum cleaner suck up more than just dirt? No worries. Astound's Wire Guard plan can cover repairs to your Astound services inside wiring at a low monthly cost.
With Wire Guard, should you ever experience an inside wiring problem with your Astound service, simply call Astound customer service and we will handle it from there. No additional repair bills: one call to Astound, and Wire Guard covers your interior Astound cable TV, Internet or phone wiring repairs. Avoid handling your own repairs, calling a third party electrician, or being charged by Astound for repairs.
What is covered?
- Diagnosis: When you report trouble, we will test the line to locate the problem.
- Repair: If the trouble is on the covered portion of wire as defined by the Wire Guard Terms and Conditions, it will be covered by the plan.
"Inside Wiring" includes inside telephone, cable and data wire and jacks, excluding home LAN wiring. Please see our complete Wire Guard Terms and Conditions for exclusions and details.
How does it work?
Astound Phone is delivered through your existing telephone wiring and the fiber-optic network already in your neighborhood. You can keep using your regular home phone handsets. If you want to make a call, simply pick up the receiver and dial.
Astound Phone uses digitally delivered packet cable technology to deliver carrier-grade IP telephony over a private network. That ensures a higher quality of service with consistent and significantly better audio because Astound Phone doesn't suffer performance issues that might result from dropped packets. For you, that means crystal clear sound, and no annoying echoes or sound delays.
It's easy to switch!
Switching to Astound Phone is easy. In most cases, you can keep your existing phone number. All that's needed to get you started is to have a Astound installation professional come out and install your telephony modem.

Beginning July 1, 2009, new applications for the California LifeLine Telephone Program must be approved before the California LifeLine discounts are received. If you enroll in California LifeLine, you will pay the regular rates for basic phone service until you are approved. Once approved, you will receive a bill credit with the California LifeLine discount retroactive to the date your service began or the date you requested to be enrolled, whichever is later. If your bill has a credit balance of $10.00 or more, you may request a refund check.
