Astound Calling Features

Astound Unlimited Phone comes with the following comprehensive calling features free. These features can be added to the Bay Area Unlimited or Local Phone Plans for just $5/month. Click on the selections for more information about how they function.

Call Waiting

If you are already on the phone, a tone will announce an incoming call. This feature comes automatically activated when included with or added to your Astound phone service.

Cancel Call Waiting (*70) will turn off call waiting on a per-call basis.

Caller ID and Call Waiting Caller ID

View caller number and, if listed, caller name when you receive calls. These features come automatically activated when included with or added to your Astound phone service.

Caller ID Block (*67)

On a per-call basis, you can block your Caller ID information from displaying when you make a call. Enter the code before making the call to activate this function.

Disable Caller ID Privacy (*82)

If you have caller ID privacy set as a permanent feature on your Astound Phone, you can activate this function. With it, you will receive a message when calling an individual that does not accept anonymous calls. Hang up, dial *82 and dial the number again to ring through to them.

Repeat Dial (*66)

This function allows you to automatically re-dial the last number you called, if you got a busy tone. The number will be automatically dialed for up to 30 minutes, until the line becomes available and the call goes through. When this happens, your phone will signal with a distinctive ring. Pick it up and begin conversing as normal.

Cancel Repeat Dial (*86) cancels the repeat dial function before the end of the 30 minutes.

Return Call (*69)

This function is handy for missed calls, as it will call the last number that called you. Like Repeat Dial, if the line is busy it will continue to redial the number for up to 30 minutes.

Note: If the caller is calling you from a mobile phone, this feature will tell you the number of the last caller but you will receive a busy signal if you attempt to dial them back through the Return Call feature. Simply hang up and dial the number directly.

Cancel Return Dial (*89) will disable the return call function before the 30 minute time frame ends.

Call Forward (*72)

With this feature, you can forward incoming calls to another telephone number. If you forward calls to a long distance number, long distance charges may apply (depending on your Astound Phone package).

Cancel Call Forward (*73) will disable all current call forwarding.

Selective Call Forwarding (*63)

Forward calls from up to 10 people to another phone line with this feature. Callers not on the selective call forwarding list will ring through normally. Enter code a second time to edit or cancel Selective Call Forwarding. Adding and removing numbers or turning off this feature is easy with the prompts you will hear when you dial *63.

Note: Selective Call Forwarding and Call Forwarding can be available on the same line, but only one can be active at a time.

Selective Call Rejection (*60)

You can screen calls from up to 12 numbers. Enter code a second time to edit or cancel Selective Call Rejection. Adding and removing numbers or turning off this feature can be done by following the prompts when you dial *60.

Selective Call Acceptance (*64)

This feature allows you to choose up to 10 people who are allowed to ring through to you. Everyone else will hear a message stating that you are not receiving calls at this time. This feature is only available as a monthly subscription.

Anonymous Call Rejection (*77)

This feature automatically blocks numbers that have disabled their caller ID information. These callers will hear a message stating that you are not receiving anonymous calls, with instructions on how to disable their own caller ID privacy.

Cancel Anonymous Call Rejection (*87) disables anonymous call rejection.

Distinctive Alert (*61)

You can assign a distinctive ring to up to 12 phone numbers. To set up this feature, dial *61, then follow the prompts about adding or removing numbers.

Speed Dial (*74)

This feature enables you to store up to 8 unique numbers to dial at the touch of a digit. To dial one of the stored phone numbers, press the one-digit number assigned to that phone number, followed by the pound (#) key. Adding a new number on speed dial automatically replaces the previously saved number in that one-digit slot.

To remove a number from your speed call list, you must replace it with another number.

Two-Digit Speed Dial (*75)

This feature enables you to store up to 30 unique numbers to dial at the touch of a digit. To dial one of the stored phone numbers, press the two-digit number assigned to that phone number, followed by the pound (#) key. Adding a new number on speed dial automatically replaces the previously saved number in that two-digit slot.

To remove a number from your speed call list, you must replace it with another number.

Three Way Calling

This calling freature allows you to bridge two lines in addition to your own, so three separate individuals can speak on a single call.

Note: If your phone has a "flash" or "link" button, use this instead of the receiver button to change lines. While using three way calling, call waiting is unavailable.
